Contrary to popular belief…

People do still die in “debtor’s prison.” Yes, in America. And here is an example from Macomb County, Michigan.

Let this sink in. This man was in jail for A TRAFFIC TICKET. Not for murdering someone, not for raping someone, not even for the drug addiction for which he was seeking treatment. He was in jail for not paying a traffic ticket.

He died a horrible death, and it was not necessary. The guards were sitting about 14-16 feet away from him when it happened. And it didn’t happen suddenly – it happened over a period of days. They could HEAR HIM twitching and seizing, and they did nothing.
