Earth Day Challenge for Wednesday!

Butterfly on Echinacea

I’m thinking that since I’ve found no other Earth Day prompts out there that aren’t geared toward miserable school writing assignments, I will toss some out there for any of you who care to accept a challenge.  Earth Day is on Wednesday, April 22. Here are some “Earth Day” ideas:

  1. Think of your favorite tree, and imagine an hour in the life of that tree. What would you see, if you had eyes?
  2. Write about your favorite experience visiting an ocean or large body of water.
  3. Post a favorite picture of an outdoor scene, and write something about it – it can be poetry, fiction, an essay… whatever you will.
  4. Pick a poem about nature, and write about it.

Feel free to share the link in the comments when you do post something. (Pretty please?)

No logos needed, just link your Earth Day blog post back in the comments at the bottom of this post, and I will share your blog post, which will also post to all 600 of my Facebook friends, who may or may not read it. Consider it Free Publicity!

    1. Thank you! It’s a few years old… I took that photo on a drive between Colorado and Wyoming on a summer trip to the in-laws that was probably the second to last nail in the coffin on that marriage. LOL.

One of these days, I’m going to blog about “The House of Monogrammed Sheets and Towels”

      1. uh oh. that sounds interesting. but Wyoming is a beautiful place. at least the parts that I went thru were. I’d love to go back there some day.

  1. Love the idea 🙂 Here is a link to the post I did yesterday, returning from an early walk by the beach :
By 0600, all is quietness and serenity in our little village of Santa Fe. Fishermen have returned, kids are quietly swimming and playing by the sea. The crystal waters and sugar beaches are (still) a beautiful tribute to Mother Nature 🙂 Have a lovely day!
